In 2013 Stan & Keltie Masters started their wildlife photography business as a means to share the beauty of nature through the lenses of their cameras. As their passion grew, so did the desire to learn more about the need to preserve the amazing wildlife and its environment that enhances our lives daily.

"By interacting with nature, spending time in it and appreciating it, we can all reap the benefits of feeling happier and healthier as a result" says Stan. "If we can help people reconnect with nature, it's not just good for them, it's great for the environment. The result is a reciprocal relationship because the more people care for and appreciate the positive impact nature has on their lives, the more likely they will want to protect it.”

Alberta born Stan and Keltie are passionate about taking you on an adventure and sharing their perspective on the Canadian wilderness. As a self-taught renown wildlife photographer, Stan has spent 1000s of hours and covered tens of thousands of kilometers in search of opportunities to capture his remarkable images.

Together with their passion for sharing their photography tips and tricks, having welcomed many visitors at their 5* B&B, dubbed “One of the Six Unique Places to Stay in Alberta” by Travel Alberta, make Stan and Keltie your ideal hosts for this Grizzly Bear Adventure, bringing home memories and photographs that will last a lifetime.

I’ve recently had the pleasure spending a couple of hours with Stan as he took me through the basics of DSLR photography for the purpose of taking pictures of nature. He taught me to venture beyond just using the pre-programmed setting on my camera. This was so worthwhile, it helped me understand Focal points, Depth of field, ISO settings, and aperture & shutter priority, just mention a few.
We followed the class room discussion with a drive around the beautiful country around the Water Valley area of Alberta. The conversation was great. Stan is a very personable guy and easy to chat with on all things, not just photography. But the highlight of the drive was capturing images of two Great Grey Owls in separate locations. I could have spent days, weeks, or even months doing this on my own. If I got lucky, that is.
Thank-you Stan for great conversation, sharing your knowledge and generous time.

I recently returned from a 2 day photography workshop at Back to Nature Retreat with Stan and Keltie. Our main reason for the visit was to photograph wildlife in the area and we sure weren’t disappointed! Stan and Keltie know when and where to find the wildlife not only around Water Valley but out west as well (Sundre, Kananaskis and Banff). They are both accomplished photographers who are willing to share their knowledge. During our excursions they were always giving us pointers and tips on how to improve our photographs and making sure we were getting the shots we wanted. Whether you’re new to photography or want to take your skills to the next level I would highly recommend Stan and Keltie. They both have an in depth knowledge of camera settings, lighting and composition and are able to give instruction in a way that makes sense and is fun!

With wildlife photo opportunities that can compete with the best locations worldwide, this is a photography trip of a lifetime, whether you are an amateur photographer, or a pro.
